The Zambia Association of Paediatric Surgeons (ZAPS) has the pleasure of inviting you to the 13 th Pan African Association of Paediatric Surgeons (PAPSA) Biennial conference to be held in Zambia from the 14th to the 15th of September 2023 in the Capital City Lusaka and preconference workshops are planned before the conference.
Zambia is home to one of the Wonders of the world, the Victoria Falls, one of the largest sheet of falling water in the world and is shared on the southern border with Zimbabwe along the Great Zambezi river. There are many other tourist atttractions that Zambia boast like the many national parks full of diverse wildlife and some of these places of interest are situated near the capital Lusaka.
September is a warm month in Zambia and just before the onset of the rains. The weather is generally fair to warm during this time.

Paediatric Surgery in Africa- the next pacesetter for global paediatric surgery
1. The abstract should be no longer than 250 words (not including the title). It is your responsibility to ensure that you keep to the word
limit. Unless it is a case report, abstracts should be formatted in four sections as follows: Aim, Method, Results, Conclusions
2. Abstracts are to be submitted as text ( word Document). No graphics or tables are allowed. Font 12 in Times new romans, Single spacing.
3. Abstracts are welcome on any subject in the field of surgery. Please use a spell checker on your abstract before submitting it.
4. Author details or institutional affiliation must not be identifiable in the abstract text. Failure to do so will result in the abstract being rejected
5. It is your responsibility to ensure the information you provide is correct and to check the content of your abstract and especially contact information. We cannot be held responsible for abstracts not being graded due to missing content or for failure to notify successful authors of abstract acceptance if forms are filled incorrectly.
6. Once completed and submitted electronically you cannot submit the same abstract again – make sure the first one is correct
7. Please ensure your e-mail address is correct as you will be notified by e-mail if your abstract has been accepted.
