It is a great pleasure to welcome you to 10th Biennial Conference of Pan African Pediatric Surgical Association (PAPSA), Cairo 10-14 November, 2014 in collaboration with 28th annual meeting of the Egyptian Pediatric Surgical Association [EPSA], with support from the British Association of Pediatric Surgeons (BAPS)International Forum.
The programme promises to be exciting, reflecting the diversity of pediatric surgicalpractice across Africa in different settings. In addition to a wide range of general pediatric surgery, specialty areas of interest will include neonatal surgery, oncology,pediatric urology, plastic surgery, minimal invasive surgery in children, etc.
There will be pre-conference courses on genitoplasty for patients with DSD (9-10 November), Minimally Invasive Surgery (10-11 November), and the BAPS Neonatal Surgical Skills Course (11November)
Many world renowned international faculty have been invited to present several state-of-the-art lectures. The program will be enriched with two mini-symposia on”Disorders of Sexual Development” (DSD), and challenges of pediatric surgical training in Africa. Submission of papers on all aspects of pediatric surgery pertaining to Africa is most welcome.
The venue for this leading event has been selected carefully, and is sited at the bank of River Nile close to the world renowned Tahrir Square, Egyptian Museum and many other attractions. The venue has an excellent congress facilities with a nearbywide selection of hotels that fits various budgets.
This congress allows a great opportunity for representatives of the major international pediatric surgical association to define the real need for pediatric surgeons in Africaand to initiate a sustainable cooperation in the future.
